The Best Fatloss Ingredient for Women   Everyone is looking for the next fat-burning silver bullet. Ever since ephedra was taken off the market we've seen a revolving door of under-study ingredients: caffeine, synephrine, green tea extract, evodiamine. Each of these are efficacious in their own ways. But when you ask experts what they feel is the most potent fat-burner on the market you'll oftentimes get a surprising answer: Protein. A recent study finally proves what natural bodybuilders and athletes have been saying for years: Increasing protein intake, while decreasing carb consumption and slightly regulating how much fat you eat, melts off pounds. Research published in the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior showed that women who increased their protein intake prevented weight gain and experienced more weight loss. The laughable part is the women in this study increased their protein consumption to match the recommendations of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee, which is set at a paltry 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight. That just shows you how potent protein is when it comes to affecting body composition. If these women took in 1 gram of protein per point of bodyweight, and engaged in some weight training and proper nutrient timing, the scientists would never believe the results.
